When Jedi Met Legend

Star Wars - The Old Republic · Satele Shan

The story in the song

This original song is written as a lament for Satele Shan—Brentaal-born, carrying the bloodline of Revan and Bastila, and burdened by the kind of leadership that saves worlds while quietly breaking the person who holds it together.

It follows Satele through the moments that define her: rediscovering Tython and rebuilding the Jedi Order, choosing duty over attachment, and letting Theron walk his own path—even when it costs her everything. Then it returns to Yavin 4, where Satele and Darth Marr stand side-by-side in an uneasy coalition to stop Revan’s desperate plan… and to prove that “enemy” can become “ally” when the galaxy is on fire.

Lyrics

Brentaal-born, carrying old wars in your name Bastila's blood and Revan's echo in the flame You found Tython's lost road through the black Built a temple from ruins, then watched it crack Peace on paper, yet you heard sabers talk So you hid your heart... and let your son walk Theron in the dark, you in the light - both paying the cost Every victory is something else you've lost Hold the light on Yavin, Satele Shan When heroes come back broken, you still stand With Marr at your side, enemy to ally, hand to hand We burn the night so the dawn can land Revan on Yavin Four, a prayer turned knife Trying to raise the Emperor, to end an endless life Coalition fire in the Massassi sky You met his legend with truth in your eye But even when you win, a planet still screams And faith feels like a wound that won't heal clean Hold the light on Yavin, Satele Shan Two banners, one shadow, one last stand With Marr at your side, you choose the hard chance again We burn the night so the dawn can land Odessen nights... you call it failure Marr's ghost beside you, teaching balance through the pain Not light or dark - just the choice to remain Hold the line through Echoes, Satele Shan In your mindscape we face his three names Tenebrae. Vitiate. Valkyrion - cut from the same We end the Emperor where he can't rise again And if a child like Vaylin never took that door Let that be the tragedy that makes us want "one chance" more Hold the line... Satele Shan
