No Chain but Endless War
DOOM · Doom Slayer
The story in the song
This original DOOM tribute follows the Doom Slayer as he breaks the Tether and rejects life as the bound weapon of gods and kings - only to discover that freedom is not peace, but the right to choose an endless war.
Apocalyptic industrial groove metal, medieval war drums, dark orchestral weight, a huge anthemic chorus, and a Tether-snapping breakdown built around the Slayer's refusal to be owned.

Lyrics
They forged a leash from heaven’s law,
Drove it through my blood and bone.
Kings would point, and gods would pull -
A living gun without a home.
I wore their mark beneath my skin,
A silent order in my veins.
Every gate they sent me through
Was sealed behind with holy chains.
They called my rage a gift to rule,
They fed my name to every throne.
But no hand made the wrath in me,
And no crown gets to call it own.
Let the high halls shake.
Let their bright seals burn.
I was never theirs to aim.
Now the weapon turns.
I break the Tether -
Hear the old world tear.
No god above me,
No king behind me here.
Freedom is no mercy.
Freedom has no shore.
I choose my own damnation:
No chain but endless war.
The leash is dead; the hunt remains.
Hell still opens, mouth by mouth.
No promised rest, no final field,
No road that ever leads me out.
Yet every step is mine at last,
Each blow belongs to me alone.
I would rather fight forever
Than kneel beside a borrowed throne.
Pull the chain -
It breaks.
Speak the word -
I don’t obey.
Raise your crown -
I crush the gold.
Build your god -
I break the mold.
I know the price of being free:
No peace, no grave, no closing door.
But choice is worth the endless fire.
I am not your war anymore.
I broke the Tether -
Hear the old world tear.
No god can bind me,
No king can name my war.
Freedom is the wound I chose,
The road that asks for more.
I choose my own damnation:
No chain but endless war.
Not saved.
Not ruled.
Not done.
Free enough to fight
Until the last Hell comes.
