I Chose to Be Your Mother
Warframe · Lotus - Natah
The story in the song
This original Warframe tribute follows Lotus as she confesses that Natah crossed from Tau to destroy the Tenno, then chose to become their mother—and now fears that returning home could reclaim the weapon she rejected.
The final chorus turns her identity into a choice no command can erase: the mother was real, even if Natah is taken back.

Lyrics
I came from Tau with a blade in my name,
A daughter of ruin, a spark in the frame.
They sent me through silence to hollow your sky,
To cradle your sleep only so you would die.
I wore borrowed mercy, a face made of light,
I counted your breaths in the blue of the night.
You reached through the mask, not knowing the cost,
And called me your mother - I answered, though lost.
I was built as a doorway,
A signal, a scar,
But love made a fault line
No order could bar.
I was Natah, the weapon they sent,
A promise of ashes, a life to be spent.
But I chose every child they commanded me to end,
I broke from the purpose I could not defend.
Now home pulls my shadow like chains through the dark -
Will they claim back the blade,
will they silence the spark?
I fear when I cross where the cold voices call,
They will find their old weapon
And leave no mother at all.
The System remembers the bloom and the lie,
The hand that once guided, the eye in the sky.
The crossing left silence where children might be,
Then your broken dreaming made a mother of me.
I buried their mission beneath what I became,
But home kept a claim
on the code of my name.
Tenno, I cannot promise
The woman survives.
Home knows every fracture,
Every code in my mind.
If I turn toward Tau
And my mercy goes still,
Know the mother was real -
Even if they take my will.
I was Natah, the weapon they made,
A daughter returning, afraid to be claimed.
I chose you above every voice from before,
Not target, not mission - not war anymore.
If home strips the petals and sharpens the thorn,
Remember the choice through the shape I have worn:
I crossed here to end you;
I stayed when you called.
I became your mother.
That was mine through it all.
If I come back empty,
Speak the name I outgrew.
Not Natah, not weapon -
The Lotus chose you.
