Hold HELIOS
Fallout · NCR
The story in the song
This original song is written as an NCR ranger anthem for Operation: Sunburst and the battle of HELIOS One in Fallout: New Vegas. It frames the fight from the Republic's side: the order to hold the plant, the white-hot mirror field, and the cost of a victory that still feels like mourning.
This GMV is built around Sodaz's Operation Sunburst and the NCR assault on HELIOS One. The angle stays with the Republic line: the push through bunkers and solar fire, the men lost taking the plant, and the order that remains after the dust settles - hold HELIOS.

Lyrics
Mask down low, rifle steady
Mirror field shaking bright and deadly
Orders from McCarran, sharp and clear
Break their line and hold HELIOS here
If I go first, don't stop for me
Raise that flag where the tower can see
Hold HELIOS
Hold till the barrel glows
Hold HELIOS
Till the two-headed banner shows
If I fall, don't slow
If the whole sky burns, don't go
Hold HELIOS
We're the line the Mojave knows
For the Republic! For the Republic!
Hold the line! Hold the line! Hold the line!
Two heads! One heart!
Two heads! One heart!
Two heads! One heart!
They had bunkers, steel, and old-world pride
We had the whole damned waste on our side
Heard their counter roll through smoke and wire
Still we climbed through glass and solar fire
First light hit the mirrors like graves
We counted our missing and still stayed brave
No clean hymns in a field like this
Just one more order we would not miss
Hold HELIOS
Hold till the barrel glows
Hold HELIOS
Till the two-headed banner shows
If I fall, don't slow
If the whole sky burns, don't go
Hold HELIOS
Let the dead know we held our post
I didn't come for glory
I came so somebody outlives this flame
If victory costs my name, then take it
As long as the Republic stays
Let the tower burn my shadow out
Just leave that flag where all can see
Hold HELIOS
Hold till the barrel glows
Hold HELIOS
Till the two-headed banner shows
If I fall, don't slow
If the whole sky burns, don't go
Hold HELIOS
Let the dead know we held our post
Hold HELIOS
We held our post
